21 more days until Xmas!! Yikes!

Winter has arrived! These 2 shots were taken just the other night as our first full snow fell. They are dressed this way because I wanted this year's Xmas pics to be a little different than the usual fancy dress type I usually take. I got these hats and scarves and waited for snow...and waited...It was getting later and later and I usually have my Xmas pictures done before December even arrives, but the weather wasn't cooperating! (How crazy is that...ME wanting it to snow!!) So, the other night, I set up my white backdrop, put up all my lights, dragged in 4 heavy potted cedar bushes for a winter-like background and as I'm pulling the last one in...it starts snowing!! Murphy's Law!! Anyway, I got the girls dressed and we headed outside. Here's what we ended up with!

The shot below is what I'm using for our Xmas cards! I think it turned out great!
Back to November for a bit...Luci's birthday landed on Thanksgiving this year which is the night we had a very informal family party for her since most of the family was in attendence for Thanksgiving anyway! That Saturday, we had a "friend" party for her at a local bowling alley. Her class is 38 kids big and every one of them were invited, so I was hoping not everyone would be able to go!! Thankfully, she ended up with just 13 kids, so that was a big relief for me! I also gave her permission to invite just 3 classmates for a sleepover later that night. (And with the addition of Sonja, Max, Drew and Hannah there were a total of 8 kids sleeping over! It actually wasn't as bad as I thought it would turn out! Everyone got along well with each other, no one went home in the middle of the night and no one got injured...so all in all a very good night!)
Drew on left and Jordyn (one of the slumber party attendees!)

Luci with her very best friend, Elizabeth, another sleep-over guest.
Luci grabs a ball and steps up to the end of the lane...
She places it on the ramp, aims and lets go.....
STEEEEEEEEE-RIKE!!!!!!!! Way to go Luci!!
She was VERY excited after getting that strike!!
Hannah prefers not to use the ramps.
Sonja gives it a go!
Max's turn!
Enough bowling! Cake and present time!!

Every girl's favorite present! Moolah!
My third child, aka Dean, aka my adolescent husband...starts a wrestling match with some of the boys.

This afternoon, I dressed the girls again for our town's annual Santa parade. Here they are waiting for Santa to arrive!
While we were waiting, the Mayor decided to interview them for a newspaper photo-op.
My brother's girlfriend, Sarah and her daughter, Kaydence waited with us!
A local Boy's and Girl's Club put together an informal choir and they sang Xmas songs on the steps while everyone waited for Santa.
Drew, Kay and Luci wait anxiously....is he coming yet????
Police lights...one of the very few times when it's actually a GOOD thing to see these!
Even the Grinch made it!

At last!! Mr. and Mrs. C have arrived!! (For those who don't know, my mother plays Mrs. Claus every year!)
Luci knows who it is, but she's very good at keeping it a secret from other kids so as to not spoil the surprise! Luci gets a big hug from Meema...er...Mrs. Claus!
Santa's arrival is also the signal to light up the City Xmas tree!
Hannah (next to Mrs. C) walked in the parade with her girl scout troop. Drew and Luci opted not to do it due to the chilly weather...see temp board over Mrs. C's left shoulder!)
Frosty offers warm hugs inside City Hall while we waited in line to sit on Santa's lap.
Ho, ho, ho!!! (Did Santa get up on the wrong side of the bed this morning? How about a freakin smile, huh?)
Well, Mrs. C always wears a happy face at least!
Drew, Luci and Kay...say cheese! I said, say CHEESE, SANTA!!! Someone poke him and see if he's still alive!

After posing with Mr. and Mrs. C, the girls were treated to hot, fresh popcorn and candy canes! Then it was home...tonight is family movie night where we'll be watching some of the old clay-mation movies, like Rudolph, Frosty, etc. Looking forward to that!
